New Delhi: The Outreach Programme and Afghanistan Studies Centre at Academy of International Studies, Jamia Millia Islamia in collaboration with the High Commission of Canada, New Delhi is going to organize a series of programmes to celebrate the International Women’s Day on March 8, 2013.
A photo exhibition on Afghan women by Lana Slezic will be on display from 9.30 am to 5.30 pm in M.F. Hussian Art Gallery of the university.
The exhibition will be followed by a panel discussion on the same day from 3-5 PM, on “Women and Development: Challenges Ahead in Afghanistan”.
Jim Nickel, Deputy High Commissioner of Canada and M. Ashraf Haidari, Deputy Chief of Mission of Afghanistan in India will address the audience on this occasion.
The speakers in the Panel Discussion include Judge Najla Ayubi, Afghan Women’s Network, Catherine Coleman, First Secretary in Embassy of Canada, Dr. Mondira Dutta, Associate Professor, Jawaharlal Nehru University and Pamela Philipose, Director and Editor-in-Chief, Women’s Feature Service.
