Panaji: A police sub inspector was killed Saturday after a truck ran over him in Goa’s Ponda town, police said.
Sub Inspector Abhishek Gomes, attached to the traffic cell of Goa Police, was flagging down a Punjab registered goods carrier near the Bethora industrial estate, 35 km from here, when he was run over.
“Gomes received fatal injuries and was declared dead at the Goa Medical College and Hospital,” a police spokesperson said.
The truck has been seized and the police are on the lookout for the driver, who has not been identified yet.
