New Delhi : Kazakhstan’s experience of promoting interfaith harmony through a world congress of religions which the Central Asian country has been holding in Astana since 2003 was marked at a roundtable here attended by delegates of different faiths.
To mark the 10th anniversary of the Congress of the Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, the embassy here held a roundtable which was attended by more than 50 delegates from different religious, including Hinduism, Islam, Zoroastrianism, Sikhism, Jainism and Indian government officials.
Kazakhstan MP Bolat Zhylkyshiyev described to participants the evolution and the role of the congress of world religions in promoting interfaith harmony.
The Congress of the leaders of world and traditional religions has gained global recognition as an “effective dialogue platform for advancing of peace and concord in the planet” the statement said.
The first Congress of world religions was held in 2003 at the initiative of Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev.
