Ahmedabad: If former Gujarat CM Shankar Singh Vaghela is to be believed, RSS-BJP combo are behind all terror acts in the country, right from Godhra to the recent Patna terror blast just before the Narendra Modi’s grand ‘hunkar’ rally.
Speaking to media persons on Tuesday, Vaghela said that the “BJP is conspiring to divide society for political gains.” He alleged that the “one common strategy running from Godhra to Patna” is to “engineer killing of Hindus and Muslims for political polarization.”
Vagehla was an active Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) member before joining the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP). He was briefly Chief Minister of Gujarat from 1996 to 1997, and floated his own party that later merged with the Congress. He was also the Textile Minister in the UPA I government.
According to media reports, Vagehla alleged that all that mattered to BJP is “grabbing power,” and it does not bother them whether those killed are Hindus or Muslims.
Citing example of Patna terror cases, where some Hindus besides alleged Indian Mujahedeen members have been arrested, Vagehla also alleged that the RSS and BJP are financing the Indian Mujahedeen for carrying out acts of terror.
Pointing to Gujarat made watched, Vaghela went on to point to the “Gujarat hand” behind the conspiracy.
He also suspected that the same forces were behind the Ahmedabad serial blasts of 2008.
Asked to elucidate his wide spread accusations, Vagehla reminded the media persons that he has been with them (RSS and BJP) and hence he knows them as well as their strategies.
