But on Wednesday, during the state cabinet meeting Minority minister Arif Naseem Khan raised the issue regarding Unani Doctors and told cabinet that Ayurvedic Doctors have already been allocated 25% reservations in government hospitals but Unani doctors do not have any such reservations although both shares similar syllabus during medical studies.

He also told cabinet that the only difference between Ayurvedic and Unani practitioners is that Ayurvedic doctors during their study learn medical science in Hindi and Unani doctors learn it in Urdu language whereas both are ancient medical sciences.

After a considerable discussion it was finally decided by the cabinet to allot Unani doctors 10% of the 25% reservation already allotted to Ayurvedic doctors in government hospital jobs. With this reservation Unani practitioners will be liable for jobs in 1809 primary health centers, District health posts in the city corporations and technical posts in MPSC.
