Kolkata : French Ambassador to India Francois Richier Wednesday strongly condemned the massacre in a Pakistan school that left nearly 141 people dead, most of them children, and said it was an attack on progress.
Richier also asserted his country’s commitment towards fighting terrorism.
“We condemn with horror the attacks on school children in Pakistan. By targeting children and schools, these terrorists are targeting knowledge, progress and the future. Those who are involved in this crime, are against progress, against future and against humanity,” said Richier, who is on a three-day visit to the city.
The Taliban attack at an army-run school in Pakistan’s Peshawar city that left 141 people, including 132 children, dead has attracted global outrage.
“We are fighting terrorist armies in Africa and the Islamic State in Iraq and we will continue our fight against terrorism. Although those who are behind the Pakistan horrific attack are not an army, we are committed to our fight against them,” he said.
