Tractors made by the Iran Tractor Manufacturing Company (ITMC) will be exported to Iraq in near future, the company’s managing director, Abolfat’h Ebrahimi, said.

“Officials from the friend and neighbouring country (of Iraq) have expressed an interest in buying Iranian made tractors, and in the first purchase they have demanded exports of 1,500 tractors, valued at $12 million,” Ebrahimi said after a meeting with an Iraqi economic delegation to Iran’s Tabriz city.

He said Iraq, with five million farmers, requires 60,000 tractors, and the country can be a very good and sustainable market for the Iranian products.

The ITMC tractors are also being exported to the Iraqi Kurdistan region presently, earning $30 million annually for the country, he added.
