New Delhi : Former Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit had 31 air-conditioners, 15 desert coolers and 25 heaters installed at her official residence when in power, a RTI activist said Thursday citing the response to his query.
“Consumption of electricity and expenses on such a large fleet of electrical equipment can be well imagined that too at a time when ‘austerity drive’ was there in existence with shortage of electricity for commoners having been a common phenomenon,” said Right to Information (RTI)activist Subhash Chandra Agrawal.
Agrawal alleged that there are reports that many highly-placed people in various commissions etc including at the Telecom Disputes Settlement Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) get a huge amount of money spent on installing costly equipment where the permissible expense limit by the CPWD is found not to be enough.
