New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met a delegation of RSS’ student wing, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Thursday and expressed unhappiness about the deadlock between the UGC and DU over the latter’s four-year undergraduate programme.
“Modi (ji) said he was very upset about the deadlock between Delhi University and University Grants Commission (UGC) and the problems being faced by the students and parents,” ABVP national secretary Rohit Chahal told IANS.
The seven-member delegation included ABVP national president P. Murli Manohar, national organisation secretary Sunil Ambedkar and Chahal.
“He (Modi) also told us that the solution to the situation will be promptly arrived at,” added Chahal.
The admission to Delhi University undergraduate programme has been stalled over the rolling back of the four year undergraduate programme as sought by the UGC.
