Dhaka : Visiting Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj Friday met Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s sister and daughter, media reported.
Sheikh Rehana and Saima Wazed Hossain were seen entering Swaraj’s suite at Hotel Sonargaon in Dhaka at 9:30 a.m, bdnews24 reported.
The meeting lasted for about half an hour, but details are yet to be disclosed.
Leader of Opposition Raushon Ershad and Bangladesh Nationalist Party chairperson Khaleda Zia will hold meetings with Swaraj later in the day.
Swaraj called on Bangladesh President Md. Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Foreign Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali Thursday. Swaraj handed over a letter from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Hasina, inviting her to visit India.
According to the sources, during the talks they discussed trade and investment, security, connectivity, and border management, among other issues.
Bilateral issues between the two countries also came up for discussion during the meeting, which lasted for about one hour.
