Speaking at the function, Ibobi Singh said the next general Assembly election is just around 2 years and a half away. Around one year would be spent on election campaigns. In fact, we are left with just 18 months. The Congress leaders and legislators need to work hard to fulfill the promises the party had made to the people. The legislators had to put the party’s election manifesto into action to retain the trust and faith of the people of this State, he added.

It is important to make the people of the State aware of the different activities and development programmes which the Government has been taking up so far. The State Government has been striving to bring equitable development in both the hills and valley. Peace and harmony will come only when all the citizens are given equal share and opportunities, Ibobi Singh further said.

Addressing the gathering, Gaikhangam advised all the Ministers to spare at least 2 hours once in a week to sit with the block presidents and party workers. We are planning to provide rest room for the block and district Presidents at the Congress Bhavan, he added.

The 3 MPs also spoke at the function. They assured to work hard to fulfill all the promises made in the party’s Lok Sabha election manifesto.
