Recognising the difficulties being faced by Lebanon due to Syrian conflict, Obama emphasised on the importance of all parties observing Lebanon’s policy of disassociation, the statement said.

Lebanon is hosting over 952,000 Syrian refugees. But Lebanese officials put the figure at about 1.2 million, according to the UN Higher Commission for Refugees.

Obama also reiterated US commitment to working with Lebanon to promote its security, unity, and sovereignty, the statement added.
