The newspaper said that “minutes of intelligence officers meeting is now suspected to be an act of an assistant commandant of BSF to retaliate his personal ‘enmity and grouse’ with AIUDF president Badruddin Ajmal.

Disclosing that investigation of the security agencies have revealed that the 12-page report, which was circulated to media was the minutes of a meeting of Lead Intelligence Agencies (LIA) of border guarding forces of the Northeastern states, security sources said that meeting was hosted by BSF in which an assistant commandant of BSF, posted in Barrack valley reported that Jamiat Ulema Hind and AIUDF may motivate Muslim youths to go for training in Bangladesh, the newspaper further said.

Asserting that report was prepared, tabled and leaked to media with some vested interest, security sources told Deccan Chronicle that the LIA meet was also attended by representatives of Assam Rifle, ITBP, SSB and hosted by the BSF at Patgaon, DIG headquarters. It further added that Ajmal had lodged formal complaints against a BSF DIG for his alleged inhuman treatment with border villagers and subsequently the BSF DIG was found guilty and placed under suspension.

Indicating that to retaliate their personal grouse against Ajmal, a section of BSF officers had generated this controversial intelligence that has created a storm in the state, security sources said that ministry of home affairs has taken the matter seriously and looking into all aspects of it, the newspaper said in its report.

The news was first broke by New Delhi based NewsX alleging AIUDF, Jamiat and Ajmal to be involved with some Islamic fundamentalists based in Bangladesh.

Following that the state has witnessed a different kind of situation with various organizations and political parties protesting against Ajmal and demanding his arrest.

AIUDF general secretary Aminul Islam who also met President Pranab Mukherjee and union home secretary seeking a proper investigation into the allegation said that it seems that there is a vested interested behind this entire episode.

“Though I don’t like to speak much before the investigation, the incident seems to be politically motivated and have a vested interest. These are being done to bring division. I have got the copy of the report but there is no signatory authority to prove its authenticity. Moreover, the first and last page of the report is missing,” Islam told TwoCircles.net.

Urging the union home ministry to initiate an investigation, he said that the party is ready to face any kind of investigation to unearth the truth.

“This kind of thing is a threat to the Indian sovereignty. If he (Ajmal) is responsible or if he has done something like that he should be arrested immediately. But if he has not done anything like that? So, there should be an investigation at the earliest,” Islam added.

Earlier, Assam chief minister Tarun Gogoi had said that there is no such evidence which can prove the alleged involvement with the Islamic fundamentalist as true for the time being.

“There is no evidence against the Jamiat or the AIUDF with the state government. Unless we have evidence, there is no question of taking action against anyone. I will start an investigation from the state government’s side and find the truth. Anyone found indulging in such acts of terrorism will be booked and not spared,” Gogoi said.

Saying that there is no such intelligence report which alleged the involvement with terrorist outfit, union home minister for state affairs Kiren Rijiju promised that the centre would take the matter seriously.
