Dr Najma Heptulla adopts Phanda Kalan village, assures to provide income generating assets

Bhopal: Dr Najma Heptulla, Union Minority Affairs Minister, on Thursday said infrastructure and income generating assets will be provided in Bhopal district’s Phanda Kalan village, which she has adopted.

After unveiling the plaque for adoption of Phanda Kalan village, about 20 kms from here, under the Pradhan Mantri Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana, (PMSAGY), at Huzur tehsil, Dr Heptulla said that the objective of the scheme is to create ideal villages throughout the country.

New avenues generating rural income such as food packaging, organic farming etc. need to be explored for development of the Phanda Kalan village, she said. “Indian villages are full of resources, which needs to be exploited fully. Basic infrastructure, sanitation, hygiene, educational and medical facilities will be regularly provided to Phanda for all round development of the village.”

Dr Heptullah further said that extra-curricular exposure and skill development training will increase the income levels of the villagers. She also stated that Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana is in accordance with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decision of linking villages with the flow of development in the country.

She assured the village community that furniture will be provided to the schools where infrastructure facilities are lacking. The Union Minister also proposed setting up of an agricultural college based on latest technologies at the village and further assured that the government will provide facilities to the children for excelling in sports.

She also suggested that the available resources can be utilized for establishment of Gobar Gas Plant to cater to the needs of rural women in cooking. There is a need to keep village neat and clean for preventing diseases. She stated that milk and dairy development can be encouraged in this village.

The Union Minister celebrated birthday of Aanganwadi children of Phanda Kalan village. She also participated in the Swachh Bharat Programme at a water tank in the village. Later, the minister distributed certificates to meritorious women.

Maya Singh, Madhya Pradesh Women and Child Development Minister, said holistic development of Phanda Kalan village can be achieved through PMSAGY scheme. Rameshwar Sharma, MLA of Huzur constituency, said the fruits of welfare schemes of government should reach its targeted audience.

Alok Sanjar, Member of Parliament from Bhopal, said development of villages will lead to the all round development of the nation. At the outset, a welcome song was rendered by school girls while another group presented a tribal dance.
