Mumbai: Photography Promotion Trust (PPT) and Ambedkar Institute for Social and Economic Change (AISEC) are planning to organise a massive exhibition of various art forms to commemorate and celebrate 125th birth anniversary of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar. This event will be one of its kind to celebrate Dr. Ambedkar’s birth anniversary as both these organisations are planning to pay an artistic tribute to him at one of the bests and reputed art gallery in India, National Gallery of Modern Art, Mumbai (NGMA) on April 14, 2016.
Mr. Sudharak Olwe, who is a Maharashtra-based photographer and convener of PPT, came up with the concept and, Mr. Bhalchandra Mungekar from AISEC is ready to mentor the project.
While talking about the objectives of this promising project, Mr. Sudharak Olwe said ‘we the Photography Promotion Trust (PPT) proposes to celebrate the 125th Birth anniversary of Dr. Ambedkar in a unique and artistic manner to create awareness among the people of India about the rich contributions of Dr. Ambedkar’s to the making of the Indian nation.”
They intend to organise an exhibition of art from all parts of the country. This will include paintings, sculptures, installation art, films, folk songs and photography. About 125 painters, photographers, artists, film makers from across the nation are expected to participate in this massive endeavour.
“Through this exhibition, we strive to create an effective platform for existing as well as upcoming artists to display their creativity on national and possibly on the global platforms, with intentions to promote the mission of Dr. Ambedkar of establishing a humane and egalitarian social order,” said Olwe.
Since this promising and significant project depends upon support from people to make it happen, Mr. Olwe is requesting people to come and contribute their skills and time and donate to this project generously.
