Akbar Kudroli, who is presently stationed in a foreign country, allegedly posted derogatory comments against the city police commissioner after he imposed ban on Dr. Zakir Naik from entering Mangaluru city and restricted him from conducting public meetings.

Dr. Naik was supposed to deliver a talk on the topic-“What Is Islam” at a peace conference scheduled to be organized on January 2 at Nehru Maidan in the Mangaluru.

South Karnataka Salafi Movement (SKSM), which is hosting the event, claimed that it had already secured permission to hold the peace meeting but RSS, Vishva Hindu Parishad, Bajrang Dal and other right-wing groups warned the government and police department of dire consequence if Dr Naik was allowed to enter Mangaluru.

Following this threat, S Murugan, Commissioner of Police, Mangaluru, on Sunday issued a prohibitory order Under Section 144 CrPC banning Dr Naik from entering the limits of the Commissionerate and participating in any public event between December 31, 2015 and January 6, 2016.

However, at the same time he also banned VHP president Praveen Tagadia from entering Mangaluru and thereby attempted to restrict Togadia from attending a convention in the city to discuss various issues pertaining to cow slaughter, love jihad and attacks on Hindu activists.
