Parbhani (Maharashtra): A local unit of Maharashtra Muslim Lawyers forum here has demanded immediate arrest of people behind circulation of derogatory images of religious structure over the social media.
The forum consisting of many young lawyers from the city on Saturday handed over a memorandum to the Superintendent of Police for the city alleging Sujeet Patve, Pankaj Dombe and others were intentionally circulating offensive morphed image of holy structure over the social media.

The forum also sent a copy of the memorandum to Chief Minister and city District collector.
The memorandum alleged that the uploading and subsequent forwarding of morphed image on Facebook is hurting religious sentiments of minority community and hence an offence should be registered and perpetrators be arrested for the criminal offence under section 295(A) of IPC.
In protest of uploading of such offensive images the minority people in Basmat city observed a day long ‘bandh’ last week. The forum of lawyers then decided to send a memorandum of their demands expressing their distress over the issue.
In its press note, the forum has advised all its district units to register protest condemning the incident and to hand over a written complaint to the respective district collector.
