New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Friday dismissed a PIL which had sought the banning of shutdowns and strikes in Kerala where they have become a way of life inconveniencing to public at large but asked political parties to introspect whether they should be enforced.
Referring to the pandemonium in Kerala assembly on Friday, a bench headed by Chief Justice H.L.Dattu asked the senior counsel V. Giri if he had watched the news about the issue.
“It is for the political parties and the people to change their mind set and do some introspection as to whether hartals and strikes should be enforced on the people. We can’t pass any order to ban them,” the bench said dismissing the PIL.
