Mumbra (District Thane, Maharashtra): A ‘Made in Mumbra’ exhibition, which had stalls showcasing security surveillance, moulding and engines material, cloths, colors and perfumes, cake and even vadaa paav etc. prepared by people of Mumbra was part of the event which also saw 3rd annual seminar on Micro, Small and Medium Scale Industries Summit in Mumbra.
The event was organised by Al-Aqsa Education and Welfare Trust and Young Entrepreneur Forum, Mumbra in association with the National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC). The programme was held at Zam Zam Hall, Mumbra on Saturday, March 28, a release from the organisers, said.
“The event saw about 50 people listing various success stories based in Mumbra after the previous five years of struggle. The event was aimed at cleaning Mumbra of the tag of an underdeveloped suburb and help entrepreneurs set up industries highlighting the fact that Mumbra has a huge logistic hub close by in Bhiwandi and an MIDC in Taloja-Mahape belt and can be accessed by two national highways,” it said.
Saif Asre, secretary Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Mumbra and proprietor Asre Kitchen, presented the report of the interest-free micro finance managed by Jamat-e-Islami Hind, Mumbra. “Till now, almost 1000 micro units/unemployed person have been benefited by this scheme by providing Rs10,000 interest free loan for one year. It is a small initiative of Jamaat-e-Islami, Mumbra to eradicate the poverty and for the upliftment of economically weaker section of the society,” Asre said adding, Jamaat-e-Islami, Mumbra is also in the process of opening a branch of Sahulat Micro Finance.
Sameer Khan, CA( ACA, CS), delivered the lecture on fundamentals of business taxing such as VAT/CST, service tax, excise duty, professional tax, income tax & LBT. Moreover, Sameer Khan clarified many misunderstandings about taxes that usually people come across during inception stage of their business.
Raziya Chasmawala talked about women doing various businesses and gave assurance about their social help and economical upliftment.
Ziyaul Islam, IT & Social Media Consultant, explained in detail that internet and social networking sites such as Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter, web portals, B2B portals such as MSMEmart.com, Alibaba.com, Tradeindia.com, eCommerce web portals etc. can play a key role to develop the business in domestic as well as international market, the release said.
Hemant, an NSIC officer, asked all the entrepreneurs to register their businesses with district industry centre so that they can enjoy the benefits of government schemes. He also explained in detail regarding various schemes provided by National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC).
Earlier, the summit was inaugurated with recitation of holy Quran and its English translation by Hafiz Jawwad. Malik Abdul Salam, proprietor Malik Data System, welcomed the guests.
