Nanded (Maharashtra): Police have succeeded in locating and arresting a man behind sending threat message to Railway Police Force (RPF) of bombing Nanded Railway Station and SachKhand Gurdwara in the city.
The special squad set up by the Nanded Superintendent of Police for investigating the threat message on Tuesday arrested Shrikant Janardhan Bhosale, 24, from the vicinity of city railway station.
Bhosale is the resident of Koregaon in Satara district.

His mobile handset and five SIM cards were confiscated by police at the time of his arrest. Police have claimed that Bhosale accepted of sending bomb threat message. A case has been lodged at the Wajirabad police station under sections 419, 420, 504, 507 of IPC and 66 b of IT Act (dishonestly stealing a computer or a communication device).
As per police, the RPF had received a threat message (text message) from an unknown person on Monday; he had threatened of exploding bombs at city’s railway station and famous SachKhand gurdwara in the city. The police had taken the threat seriously and Premjeet Singh Dahiya, SP of Nanded directed for formation of special squad to investigate the matter and to increase police presence at the said two locations.
The special squad obtained details of the mobile number through which threat SMS was sent and finally located the sender to the vicinity of railway station. The handset used for sending message was found in the possession of Bhosale, who after detention accepted of sending that threat message.
Police are now investigating the motive behind sending such a threat message and to find if Bhosale has any accomplices. It has already dispatched a team to Satara to find antecedents of Bhosale.
Social activists and legal experts from the city have expressed their displeasure with police booking Bhosale under simple sections of IPC and are demanding invocation of harsher sections. They are also demanding NIA probe in the matter.
Advocate N Khan told TwoCircles.net, “Sending threat message of exploding bomb to create panic amongst the peace loving people is not a simple crime and hence some harsher charges like section 121 of IPC (waging war against nation) and section 122 of IPC (sedition) must also be brought against such offenders”.
