New Delhi : Speaking at the public release of jury report regarding the Legislative Framework for Compensation and Rehabilitation for Innocents acquitted in terror cases, Author, academician and activist Manisha Sethi raised the issue of compensation to the innocent framed in terror related cases.

She said that though India is signatory to International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR), but there is no legal framework in the Country to implement the ICCPR recommendations. The report also raises these issues.

Sethi said that it was important that a network like the Innocence Network exists to take up the issues of those who have been wrongfully prosecuted. The Network called for a people’s tribunal as it was necessary that such voices get heard.
