Dubai: Abdul Bari Siddiqui, Finance Minister, attended a dinner on Monday, May 23along with a group of a group of eminent Non Resident Indians (NRIs) living in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and he took the moment to speak at length about the prevailing socio-political conditions in India with special reference to Bihar.
The dinner was hosted by Sayed Anwar Bari, Board of Director of Al Amana private school and founder member of Bihar Anjuman along with businessmen Akther Hussain, who is from Siwan, and Manoj Singh, who hails from Ara, at the India club in Dubai.
While apprising the gathered audience about the initiatives taken by the new JDU- RJD state government led by Nitish Kumar for social upliftment and financial success of its people, the minister said, “The NRIs from Bihar should join the process by investing in health, education and agro-based industries and to contribute in the development of their home state.”
The gathered audience also raised their issued related to their home state, Bihar, with the Minister. Syed Anwar Bari, Board of Director of Al Amana private school and founder member of Bihar Anjuman asked the Minister to give due consideration to building an international airport in Patna at the earliest, besides also demanding for international standard stadium for IPL and international cricket matches since the Finance minister is also president of cricket association of Bihar and chairman of badminton association.
The minister also presented mementoes to some of the eminent members of the community by honoring them for success in their respective works attained in UAE.
Along with Syed Anwar Bari, Akhter Hussain and Manoj Singh, Shakel Imam, a former IIT graduate who hails from Muzaffarpur and is currently the owner of ADMac consultants and Parvez Siddique, a former resident of Siwan and now the director of Etisalat, Abudhabi were among those who were honored.
