JUH leaders questioned the center and various state governments led by Bhartiya Janta Party about the steps being taken to restore the communal harmony in the country.

As per the press statement issued by JUH, its president Mohammad Usman Mansoorpuri led the march at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi and General Secretary Maulana Mahmood Madani in Pune.

Apart from the major cities like Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai, Lucknow, Kanpur, Guwahati, Bangalore, Varanasi and other major cities, Aman march was taken out in districts like Muzaffarnagar, Deoband, Bijnor, Aurangabad, and many other such places.

The press statement said that the march was also taken out in the flood-affected Dhanera town of Gujarat where Hindus and Muslims both took part in the march to spread the message of communal harmony.

In his address at Jantar-Mantar, JUH president Mohammad Usman Mansoorpuri said, “India is a country of diverse communities and religions and has been an embodiment of unity in diversity for centuries. However, it is unfortunate that some forces inimical to the unity and integrity of the country have been raising their ugly head for a long period of time.”

He added, “These disruptive and divisive forces do not respect the Constitution and the law of the land and have been targeting a particular religious group in the country.”

Targeting the communal attacks being led by right-wing people across every corner of the country, Mansoorpuri said, “All these attacks are deplorable, and seem to indicate the weakening of the rule of law and contribute to a growing sense of insecurity for the minority community and intensification of religious tensions.”

In Pune, JUH General Secretary Maulana Mahmood Madani asked the government to tell the world about the measures taken by it to counter the growing cult of mob-lynching and hate crimes.

He said, “Forces of hate with the tacit approval of some members of the government have been targeting a particular religious group in the country for petty political gain.”

However, Jamiat leaders also clarified that they were not gathered to oppose any government but to urge the nation for a collective struggle for peace.

This movement is to stir the conscience of the country and a call for standing united against the forces of evil which want to create divisions in the country on religious lines.

Concerned citizens from all faiths marched the streets and main thorough fares in major towns and cities with holding placards to spread the message of communal harmony and to raise a united voice against the growing virulent atmosphere in the country, said the statement.
