The campaign, entitled as Rejecting Victimhood | Reclaiming Dignity | Up Against Hate, was launched yesterday at Kolkata  Press Club. The organisers said the campaign is an attempt to thwart the “Hindutva-stained nationalistic patriotism that the present BJP led central government along with RSS are trying to formulate.”

“Living with dignity is a God-gifted fundamental right of mankind. But as far as the present social, political scenario of India is concerned, the rights of oppressed communities are being severely getting violated. All unprivileged communities, Muslims, Dalits alike, are going through a very grave situation.”

Responding to the questions of how the campaign would be followed, Abdul Hamid, State Public Relations Secretary of S.I.O, West Bengal, said, “We will be doing symposium, seminar, public lectures in various cities, as well as villages, across the country starting from August 16 to August 30. It is a kind of attempt that aims at glorifying the very tenets of humankind including living with the dignity that is now being deprived by the politicization of human ethos in a false consciously, fabricated nationalistic patriotism masterminded by the Hindutva  ideology of BJP-RSS.”
