The Aligarh Muslim University on Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Mohd Nadeem Hussain, CEO, M. H. Exports and a distinguished alumnus of the AMU, who has pledged donations for the construction of a 228-bedded hostel for the boarders of the Syedna Saifuddin Tahir School. AMU Registrar signed the MoU from University’s side in the presence of the Vice Chancellor, Lt Gen Zameer Uddin Shah (Veteran).
Under the MoU, a hostel block will be constructed for STS School students along with a sports complex, which will be named as Mohd Hussain Boarding House, after the father of Mr. Nadeem Hussain. The completed project shall however be the sole property of the Aligarh Muslim University, clarified the MoU. The University will provide encumbrance free land for the purpose.
Welcoming the move, AMU Vice Chancellor, Lt Gen Zameer Uddin Shah (Veteran) appreciated the philanthropic venture of an AMU alumnus and thanked him for his generous contribution in the infrastructure development of his alma mater. He urged other AMU alumni to step forward and take part in University’s development.
Prof Asfar Ali Khan, Prof Mohd Gulrez, Director, School Directorate, Faisal Nafees, Principal, STS School, Omar S Peerzada, PRO, Abdul Jabbar, Mohd Ajmal, Suhail Ahmad Alvi, Tauheed Mehtab and Masroor Alam were present on the occasion.
