Aligarh: School of Education, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) under the scheme of ‘Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya Mission on Teachers and Training’ (PMMMMTT), Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) started short-term courses for Madrasa teachers on ‘Environmental Education and How to Teach Effectively’at the Department of Education, AMU.
These courses, which were started on February 18 will conclude on February 23.
Chief-guest of the inaugural function, Prof Akbar Husain (Officiating Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences) said that since Madrasas are a bridge in religious and modern education, it is the onus of Madrasa teachers to focus on the personality development of students in the best of religious and modern ways. He also launched the School of Education website.
Prof Nabi Ahmad delineated the importance of linking Madrasa and modern education.
Prof M Parvez (Chairperson, Department of Education) welcomed the delegates, while Prof Sajid Jamal (Project Coordinator) explained the programme’s purpose.
Dr M Abid Siddiqui proposed the vote of thanks. Dr M Shakir conducted the programme which had participations of over 65 teachers.
