Re-polling in one booth in Ernakulam

The election commission has decided to hold polling once more in booth No 83 of Kalamassery Assembly constituency in Ernakulam. Polling was held in Kerala on 23rd April with more than 77% of voter turn-out which is the highest in 30 years.

However in this particualr booth, the presiding officer had forgotten to delete the votes cast as mock polls before begining the actual polling. Hence it has been decided to go for repolling. The date has yet to be announced.

Another interesting aspect of this year’s Lok sabha election has been that the number of police complaints filed during poll time this year has been lesser as compared to the earlier Asembly elections in 2016.

In the 2016 asembly elections around 600 cases were booked while now in 2019 for the LS elections 347 cases have been registered.
