Tehran : Iran is organizing the biggest artistic festival from December 14-15.
Announcing this, director general of Provinces and Majlis Department of Islamic Propagation Organization’s Arts Bureau, Majid Moslehi said on Sunday that the festival featuring works produced at the bureau’s provincial branches will be organized in different categories including visual arts, film, play, music and literature.
He said that the event aims to expedite the process of producing works, identify and attract talented youth, promote Islamic art, showcase capabilities of the provincial branches of the bureau and mark the ‘Year of Innovation and Prosperity’.
Maintaining that Tehran does not mean the entire Iran, Moslehi said that such events should also be held in the provincial capitals because there are many talents in the provinces, who could have done great works with the least facilities.
Moslehi also recalled that the first festival of provincial products was held in Isfahan in 2006 with the participation of 700 veteran artists.
“Arts Bureau currently has representative offices in 29 provinces except North Khorasan while until 2001, there was only six provincial branches,” he said.
Declaring that so far some 600 titles of books focusing on Sacred Defense (Iraq-imposed war 1980-88) and Islamic Revolution have been published by the entity, he further stated that more than 50 percent of the publications have been compiled by the researchers from the provinces.
