Iran-Switzerland deputy FMs agree on bilateral cooperation

Tehran : Deputy foreign ministers of Iran and Switzerland agreed to compile a framework on bilateral cooperation in the field of human rights.

The deputy FMs presided the fourth round of bilateral talks in the field of human rights in the city of Bern, Switzerland, on Monday.

Deputy Foreign Minister in Legal and International Affairs Mohammad Ali Hosseini by referring to the “Principle of dialogue” as one of the basic axis of Iran’s foreign policy said Iran is looking for ways of cooperation and understanding in the field of human rights.

Referring to the problems caused by political and useless confrontations in the field of human rights for world community, he stressed that the authentic dialogues and goal-oriented interactions are the only way to promote human rights and access to the common ideals.

The Iranian senior diplomat talked about Iran-Switzerland potentials for establishment of constructive talks in the field of human rights and underlined the necessity of using these potentials to strengthen dialogues between Islamic world and the West.

The Swiss deputy FM also by referring to his country’s intention for interaction and cooperation with Islamic Republic of Iran underlined the necessity of bilateral cooperation to achieve common goals and promotion of human rights situation in the world level.

Talman said it was necessary to know deeply Islam penal system and expressed Switzerland readiness for cooperation with Iran in direction of promotion of understanding as well as practical measures to help promoting human rights.

In this round of talks, also other Iran’s concerns in the field of Islamophobia, problems of Muslim minority in Switzerland, police mistreatment, child vulnerability and refugees situation were discussed, too.
