Tehran : Provincial businessmen in Iran’s Sistan-Baluchestan are keen to expand trade with African countries.
The head of Sistan-Baluchestan Trade Department said that expansion of export target markets and developing cooperation with the other countries are the priorities of the department.
Iraj Hassanpour said that the provincial marketing delegations will be dispatched to African states to develop trade with them.
In another development, Governor-General of Sistan-Baluchestan province Habibollah Dehmordeh said that provincial trade and marketing delegations have been dispatched to India to develop trade between the two countries.
“Development of infrastructures and dispatch of marketing delegations to India are part of the measures taken so far,” he added.
The official said that many efforts have been made in the province towards promotion of export and trade.
“Through development of fishing platforms, the ground has been prepared for concurrent berthing and off-loading of three ships at Chabahar,” he added.
Underlining extensive activities of the private sector in the province, he said: “If the private investors embark on establishing a plant for conversion of scrap iron to iron bars, they will be supported by the governorate of Sistan-Baluchestan province.”
