IAEA General Director Mohamed ElBaradei “will most likely forward a new report on Iran to the 35-nation Board of Governors Monday”, a spokesman of the UN nuclear watchdog told the news agency.

In his earlier report on the Islamic country’s controversial nuclear endeavour, ElBaradei noted progress in clearing up the outstanding issues related to Tehran’s past nuclear activities.

But he said that there were several questions remained unanswered by Iran. The IAEA chief tabled that report in May.

Last month, Tehran hosted several rounds of talks between Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization, which deals the nuclear programme of the country, and the IAEA in a bid to clear the cloud over its nuclear ambition.

Iran has been accused by the West of preparing nuclear bombs under cover of its nuclear power project. Iran denies the charges and insists its nuclear programme is of peaceful purpose.
