Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Sanjeev Jain sent Saif, Zeeshan, Mohammed Shakeel, Zia-Ur-Rehman and Shaqib Nissar to police custody till Oct 16.

The prosecution argued that their police custody was needed to unearth the entire conspiracy behind the terror attack.

It also said that all the accused were required to be taken to other parts of the country to identify the co-conspirators.

The prosecution informed the court that during interrogation, Zeeshan and Saif had revealed the names of six other people whose hideouts were still to be searched.

The prosecution also informed the court that the laptop and other materials recovered from them are to be sent to a forensic laboratory at Hyderabad.

However, the defence lawyers opposed the police plea for extending the police custody.

Saif was arrested immediately after the Sep 19 shootout in Jamia Nagar in south Delhi while Zeeshan was arrested the same evening from Jhandewalan in central Delhi where he had gone to be interviewed by a TV channel.

The next day, Mohammed Shakeel, Zia-Ur-Rehman and Saquib Nissar were arrested from south Delhi and were produced in court in connection with the blasts at Gaffar Market in Karol Bagh.

Saif and Zeeshan have been named for their alleged involvement in the blast at Greater Kailash-I.
