Panaji, India : The German researcher, who has accused Goa Education Minister Atanasio Monserratte’s son of raping her daugther, on Saturday filed a fresh complaint with the police accusing the minister’s wife Jennifer of threatening her to withdraw the complaint.
Jennifer dismissed the charge as “totally baseless” and said she never met the German woman.
The mother has accused Jeniffer of visting her place on October 3, a day after the complaint of rape was lodged with police and threatening her to withdraw the complaint.
Aires Rodrigues, lawyer of the the German mother, has produced a paper on which Jennifer Monserrate had purportedly scribbled her name and mobile number and handed it over to Fadela as a proof. “The complaint is filed under the Indian Penal Code,” Rodrigues said.
The lawyer also claimed the state was conspiring with the minister to shield the accused Rohit who is missing for more than a week.
“Jennifer told the media that it was the Advocate General who had advised her that the police had erred in procedure while filing the complaint. How can the state advocate general advise an accused in this case?” Rodrigues said.
He said it was the duty of the AG to advise the police and not accused who are facing charges.
Rodrigues accused the state government of conniving with the accused and demanded that Rohit be immediately arrested as there is enough evidence against him
