Afghan team arrive in Pakistan for tribal council talks

Islamabad : A six-member Afghan delegation arrived in Islamabad on Monday for talks with Pakistani officials about the upcoming meeting of “mini-jirga.”

The mini jirga will be held in Islamabad on Oct. 27-28 to discuss efforts against militants, the News Network International (NNI) news agency reported.

Deputy Chairman of Jirga Monitoring Commission of Afghanistan Farooq Wardak will lead the delegation, according to NNI.

Afghan delegation will meet Owais Ghani, Chairman of the Pakistani component of the Jirga Commission, and governor of the North West Frontier province.

The mini-jirga will also discuss possibility of the next grand joint jirga, scheduled to be held in Pakistan.
