United Nations : UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has expressed concern over the outbreak of violence in Gaza and southern Israel and appealed to both parties to respect the Egyptian-brokered ceasefire deal.
His spokesperson, Michele Montas, told the daily press briefing Wednesday that Ban “has urged and is urging again” the parties for the full respect of the deal brokered by Egypt and that has been in place for the past four months.
In retaliation to the Israeli killing Tuesday of six Palestinian militants, Hamas earlier Wednesday fired a number of rockets that landed in the coastal city of Ashkelon. No casualties were reported.
