“We will felicitate him in a befitting manner for his contribution to Indian and Bengal cricket,” CAB President Jagmohan Dalmiya told mediapersons here Friday.

Dalmiya said the CAB was hoping that Ganguly would reconsider his decision to retire after the sparkling form that he has displayed in the series.

“But during the Indian cricket board function at Nagpur yesterday (Thursday), we saw that he had firmed up his mind. We fully respect his decision,” Dalmiya said.

“Sourav has inspired and enthralled cricket fans throughout his long stint in international cricket. The CAB considers him as its integral part,” he added.

Former Indian captain would be presented with a silver bat during the felicitation.
