Releasing a chargesheet titled “BJP means corruption, misrule and anarchy”, senior Congress leader V. Narayansamy and the party’s state president Suresh Pachouri told reporters that the five-year BJP rule in the state had left children dying of hunger and common man living in fear.

While there are several allegations in the Congress’ chargesheet, corruption cases against the BJP ministers pending in the Lok Ayukta tops the list of 139 accusations.

Pachauri accused the BJP of making false promises to the people and not delivering what was promised even in its previous election manifestos. He said: “The only achievement of this government is that its ministers have created a record of sorts in corruption.”

The chargesheet cited the scams which broke out in various government departments, including education, food and civil supplies, health and others and expressed concern over “deteriorating health and education services, besides unemployment.”

The Congress has also alleged that the BJP Government also made efforts to destroy the secular fabric of Madhya Pradesh.

Pachouri said the chargesheet exposed the “misgovernance and corruption” in every department of the government. “(Chief Minister Shivraj Singh) Chouhan has not solved any problem and as a result, corruption and inefficiency have thrived,” he added.

He said the level of corruption could be “gauged from the fact that there have been media reports about a money counting machine having been installed at the chief minister’s official residence.”
