New Delhi : The government Tuesday appointed V.P. Agarwal the new chairman of the Airports Authority of India (AAI).
Agarwal, member (planning) of the AAI, will take office from the present AAI head K. Ramalingam Jan 1, a civil aviation ministry official said.
He has a fixed tenure of five years.
Agarwal has also served as executive director of the AAI’s northern and northeastern region operations earlier.
He was associated with the implementation of India’s Gagan satellite-based navigation project to monitor India’s skies.
Gagan is jointly being developed by the AAI and the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
