Amsterdam : The European parliament has refused to allow the screening of an anti-Islam short film in the European Union (EU) parliament building in Strasbourg.
Geert Wilders, the maker of the film and leader of the Dutch anti-immigration Freedom Party (PVV), called the Wednesday’s decision “censorship”.
Wilders had been invited to show the film “Fitna” in the European parliament by British lawmaker Gerard Batten of the anti-European Independent Party.
“Fitna”, released on the internet March 27, attacks what rightwing leader believes is the spread of radical Islam and the “Islamisation” of the Netherlands.
