Tehran : President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Sunday that the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran was a turning point in the history of mankind.
“The Islamic Revolution was, undoubtedly, the greatest development that has occurred in the lives of the Iranian people and also the offset of the greatest change in the history of humanity,” said the president in his address to a national gathering on the occasion of the approaching 30th victory anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.
The occasion is annually celebrated by all Iranians during a period (January 31-February 10) dubbed as the ‘Daheyeh Fajr,’ (the Ten Day Dawn).
“Iran’s Islamic Revolution is a global phenomenon belonging to all mankind, ” noted the president.
He added, “There is no doubt that the present turmoil worldwide was the result of existing political and social systems which are based on capitalism and existentialism.”
President Ahmadinejad stressed that the Islamic Revolution has not only freed Iranians from dictatorship, but it has also had a great influence on the international developments.
“Victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran revived all human values which had been forgotten by people in the passage of time including their religious values as well as respecting independence and freedom,” the president stressed.
