New Delhi : The Territorial Army contingent has has been adjudged the best marching contingent among the armed forces at the Republic Day parade Jan 26, it was announced here Monday.
A panel of judges also selected the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) contingent as the best among the paramilitary and other auxiliary contingents, an official statement said.
The “Naari Shakti” pageant presented by the students of Remal Public Senior Secondary School, Delhi was adjudged the Best School Children’s Item.
Kerala’s float depicting the Pooram festival was awarded the first prize in the tableaux category. The second prize went to the tableau from Maharastra depicting the Gaja Dhol dance of the shepherds from Miraj, Kolhapur and Solapur regions of the state. The tableaux of Tamil Nadu and Jammu & Kashmir shared the third prize.
