New Delhi : Pakistan Saturday congratulated Mohammad Hamid Ansari on his election as India’s new vice president and hoped for enhancement of mutual trust and confidence between the two nations.
“We sincerely hope in the time to come there will be enhancement of mutual trust and confidence between our two countries,” said Pakistan Senate Chairman Mohammadmian Soomro.
“It gives us a great pleasure to extend our warm felicitation. Pakistan remains committed to improvement of relations with India,” he added.
Afrasiab, Pakistan’s deputy high commissioner, forwarded the congratulatory message to the external affairs ministry, which will pass it on to the vice president.
