Mumbai : Indian equities closed in the red Wednesday with a key index ending trade a marginal 0.22 percent lower than its previous close.
The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) pulled down shutters at 9,015.18 points (provisional), down 0.22 percent or 19.82 points.
The BSE midcap index ended 0.45 percent lower, while the BSE smallcap was down 0.61 percent.
The broader-based S&P CNX Nifty index of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) closed at 2,775.95 points, 0.2 percent higher than its last close.
