“We’ve primarily finalised the list of our candidates for the Lok Sabha polls. For all of us present in the meeting, it just took one minute to arrive at a unanimous decision and approve the list of candidates,” Chakraborty told reporters after attending the CPI-M’s state committee meeting.

He said that CPI-M leaders also discussed election strategy in the meeting.

“The list of CPI-M candidates would be finalised in a Left Front (LF) meeting March 3,” he added.

According to party sources, the CPI-M would place the list of its Lok Sabha candidates before the LF and if it is passed, the party would go ahead with that.

Earlier, the CPI-M state secretariat had approved the list of its candidates for the Lok Sabha elections and it was ratified by the state committee Tuesday.
