New Delhi : A modern hi-tech security system on lines of what exists in Parliament House was inaugurated in the Delhi secretariat Friday.
The Integrated Security System includes an iris based personnel access control system, and anti-terrorist devices such as road blockers and hydraulic obstacles.
“A Mobile Trace exclusive detector is being installed to detect a very minute trace of explosive material. This will be used to sanitise important areas and have an intensive check in case of need,” said Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit after inaugurating the system Friday.
A Vehicle Access Control System is also being installed to ensure that only authorised vehicles enter the secretariat building.
“A dedicated central control room with 21 monitors, four large plasma displays along with two camera controllers will keep a continuous vigil over happenings around the secretariat. Around 110 cameras have been installed in the premises,” said Dikshit.
Apart from this, a series of pre-recorded messages and alarms/voice announcements would be made in the secretariat. In order to screen incoming material, indigenously built X-ray baggage scanners have been installed.
