Qashqavi stresses importance of upcoming Palestine meeting

Tehran : Foreign Ministry spokesman Hassan Qashqavi said on Monday that 80 delegates are to attend the upcoming international conference on Palestine to be held in Tehran this week.

The Islamic Consultative Assembly (Majlis) is to host an international conference on Palestine dubbed ‘Palestine, manifestation of resistance, Gaza, victim of crimes’ on March 4-5.

Qashqavi added that some 50 international lawyers will also attend the event to review documents on the Zionists’ crimes in the occupied territories.

Senior officials of various Palestinian groups and parties as well as grand ulema of Palestine are also attending the two-day confab, he further announced.

Qashqavi also announced that Tehran is to host the 18th foreign ministerial session of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) and the 10th ECO summit meeting next week.

Afghan reconstruction, anti-drug campaign and the ECO Action Plan will top the agenda of the talks of the upcoming meetings, he said.
