“The encounter took place this (Thursday) morning in Tilak Colony in Bareilly, some 250 km from Lucknow,” Superintendent of Police (Rural) Vijay Gautam told IANS on phone.

According to police, the three alleged criminals have been identified as Rakesh Patra, Mahesh and Suresh Dalal, who had nearly 30 cases of murder, contract killing, loot and dacoity pending against them.
