Expired medicine recovered from Chhattisgarh hospital

Raipur, March 7 (IANS) Expired stocks of medicine were recovered from a government hospital here Saturday during a surprise inspection by a rights commission team, an official said.

Chhattisgarh Human Rights Commission secretary Dilip Bhatt told reporters that an eight-member team carried out a surprise inspection of the district government hospital in Raipur’s Pandri locality and found expired medicine stocks.

The team also expressed anguish over “gross mismanagement” at the hospital after it went through the attendance register and other documents, and visited out patients department (OPD) and operation theatre rooms, he said.

Not a single doctor was available on duty Saturday first half, officials added.
