New Delhi : An overwhelming 70 percent of Indians feel that the high-profile Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket tournament that will now be staged in South Africa should have been played in India.
A survey conducted by NDTV-GfK-Mode in 13 cities with a sample size of 1,402 Indians also revealed that nearly 60 percent of the respondents felt the decision was a disgrace for the country.
“Seventyone percent of the census would like IPL to be held in India and 29 percent feel it does not matter where it is played,” said a statement issued by NDTV Tuesday.
According to the survey, 40 percent people surveyed felt it would affect the Congress in the forthcoming elections, 19 percent felt it was good for the party, while 41 percent said it did not matter.
