The resolution adopted by the House of Councilors and the House of Representatives states that the launch would damage peace and stability not only in Japan but also in northeast Asia.

“This launch cannot be tolerated and Japan will demonstrate its firm protest against the notice of the launch,” according to Kyodo News.

It also urged the Japanese government “to cooperate with other countries in the world to continue urging the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) to refrain from launching the missile” and the Pyongyang “to listen sincerely to voices of the international community.”

Pyongyang said it will put a satellite into orbit between April 4 and 8. However some countries including Japan, the United Stated and South Korea believed it is a test of a Taepodong-2 long-range missile.

Japan has deployed anti-missile systems to shoot down the rocket in the event it falls towards Japanese territory.
